Pensioners Behaving Badly

Blurred, Dammit.  But what a scene.

To Heck With "Growing Old Gracefully"

Bonus - with the Interweb, there's always a chance to learn things wot you never knew about.

Waiting for the 61A Bus

Five friends just sitting.

Sitting and waiting.

Waiting for the number 61A bus.

Where is that damned bus?

Bonus - Those crazy Germans...

Meet Henry

Henry Thornley is a Pillar of the community.   A Quantity Surveyor, who's also an Elder in his Church. Help out at weekends at the Quahog Junior Ten-Pin Bowling League.

And he's a Serial Killer.

You can see it in his eyes.

Bonus - One of the more sensible American Government candidates.

Slightly Squiffy

I suspect that Madeleine here has partaken in a few too many Martinis. She seems a little .... Tired and Emotional.

Yes, as a Newt.

Bonus - Alleged machete-wielding would-be robber thwarted by larger machete

Thanksgiving - Outdoors

Thanksgiving Day, and Robert's family do as they always do - have their Thanksgiving Day meal outdoors.

Just like the Founding Fathers did.

Except, Robert will be missing out of the washing up to grab the remote at watch "The Game".

Bonus - A Toy Spawned From the Darkest Depths of Hell   The reviews are ... interesting.

Joy-Riding - Old Style

Yes, this is how they did it, in the old days.

Absolutely no information about the slide - by that's normal.

Bonus - Isn't it amazing what you can find on YouTube?

Tuesday 24 November 2015

A Bridge.

A bridge (I think) somewhere (obviously).

Ticks the boxes for a Tedious Tuesday slide, being tedious, bad photography (out of focus) and no info on location etc.

Enjoy.

Bonus - To add some movement into this post...

Monday 23 November 2015

Nom Nom Nom

Young lad seems to be enjoying his homogenise oyster and horseradish puree.

Not sure why, but this lad reminds me of Count Orlok.

Bonus - Music 4/10.  Video Mash-up 9/10

Injun Joe

(Yes, I know it's blurred. Blame the original photographer.)

Idea place for kids - The Garage (or Basement.)  So.. Is that a TeePee or a WigWam?

Bonus - Opened curtains this morning to find a light dusting of snow. And it's Bloomin' freezing.

Seems like a good time to post this recreation of Calvin and Hobbes Snowmen, in real life.

World Toilet Day

To mark World Toilet Day, I thought I'd give you a glimpse into my humble abode.

This magnificent construction is the downstairs guest water closet, after remodelling by some student architects. It's OK, but next time I'd replace the biodegradable corn-husks with standard toilet paper. Being green can be such a pain.

Bonus - Thanks to the friendly Arkangel, I am now acquainted with The Gallifreycrumb Tinies.

Marvellous.

Long Tall Sally

There's a touch of the "timeless classic fashion" in Sally's choice of clothing. Could date to anywhere in the last 60 years.

In fact, the slide dates from 1959, so I wonder where Sally is now...

Winston Churchill's Wall

Today's Tedious Slide is , unfortunately, quite interesting.

It's of a Plaque in a wall at Chartwell, and commemorate's Winston Churchill's efforts as a bricklayer.

No, Really.

What sort of man would deserve a memorial like this?

Bonus - NSFK : NSFW

A Boy And His Dog

A wonderful scene, but only a few of you will have noticed the four camouflaged snipers in the background.

Full marks to the British Army "Not Being Seen" Division.

Meet Mike McMenamen.

Meet Mike. He's an intepid world traveller, and today he's posing outside the old city gateposts on Nottingham in Idaho.

Nottingham was one of the few American cities which was protected by masonry walls, which provided little protection from the giant sinkhole that swallowed the business district in 1842. Strangely, this portion of the wall, and the gates, remained, but since then the wooden gates have rotted away.

Who said blogging wasn't educational.

Bonus - Ye May Gang Faur And Fare Waur.  The story of Stracathro Services.

Dude Needs A Brew-ski

Yes, even dumb jocks need to be fed and watered.

Bonus - The frankly fascinating story about "He's-At-Homes" - The Dildos of Nantucket.

As you can imagine, it's not really suitable reading for kids and easily shocked old spinsters.

Not Exactly A Poppy

...but this a close approximation for Remembrance Day.

(It's not easy to search ten thousand unindexed slides.)

Bonus - Lest We Forget

In The Field

Another truly dreadful slide.

I'm not even sure if that bloke is filming on a cine-camera, listening to a transistor radio or having a shave.

In the middle of a field.

Wilbur and Flo's Garden

There's something Wholesome and Pleasing about this couple.

Possibly the lack of duckfaces, planking or other photobombing nonsense.

Bonus - Salad Is Healthy, Right?

Wild Swinger's Party

A gent, who looks rather like David Steel, presides over his harem, at a typical Fulham Wife Swapping party of 1966.

Bonus - Oh Look!  A Five Legged Elephant.

Bonus 2 - Drench

Friday 6 November 2015

Harbour Sky

For a change, an in-focus and well-exposed slide. The dramatic sky and even exposure makes me think "Polarizing Filter", but , heh, what do I know.

Bonus - A cautionary tale on the Perils Of On-Line Trading.

Thursday 5 November 2015

Abstraction

Another case of questionable photography leading to intriguing art.

Some massive sculpture has been photographed in a non-flattering manner, and the result is almost Abstract.   Rather good, I'd say.

Bonus - God says that Real Men pee standing up!

Important Collateral Channels in Portal Hypertension

As it says in the title.

Nice.  Might be a Christmas Card for me this year...

Bonus -  OK, might as well start thinking 'bout Christmas...

Tuesday 3 November 2015

An Actual Four Poster Bed

Yes, a truly entrancing subject for a slide - an actual, real, genuine Four Poster Bed.

Wow.

Or maybe the photographer was just loading a new film and this was the first partial shot.
Maybe.
