Oriental Terrace

This should be a strait-forward tedious slide of an alley, in some urban shit-hole. But, my curiosity got the better of me, and I tried to work out where this is.

The mention of "Saints" in the graffiti made me think of Southampton FC, and yes, there's an Oriental Terrace there. However, while it does look like a pedestrian-only thoroughfare, it does currently look quite different to the one in the slide.

Still, it's my best guess, and if correct, there is an interesting connection to The Titanic.

Bonus - Guns n Roses n Investments. The interesting background story of Duff Man. "McKagan, 47, explains how he stopped his gallon-of-vodka-a-day habit by switching to 10 bottles of wine. "

Bonus 2 - Having become annoyed with the endless shite, why not ...

The Tractor Kids

I know the title sounds like a third-rate Enid Blyton knock-off, but it's actually an accurate description of today's slide. Three children playing on a vintage (tho' not so much when the slide was taken) Ford tractor.

Bonus - The Montana Snow Weasel

MORE From Wife-Swapping in Penge

Here, waiting for her moped keys to be selected from the coffee table, is Mabel "Cookie Monster" Meldrum. Underneath that drab and predictable exterior, pounds the heart of a drab and predictable woman.

Posing with The Guys

This would be one of my favourite found slides...except that the photographer forgot to focus.

Damn.

Well, I suppose I could try to locate the location, and I suspect that it's Crater Lake in Oregon.

Bonus - On a Water theme, this is proper 4x4 River Crossing :-)

I've got the gang coming round tonight. Unlike the revellers above (the slide says "Sukiyaki Party Oct 1956") we'll be ticking into those naff foods that style has left behind. Cheese Fondue, Chocolate Fondue, Black Forest Gateau and maybe Prawn Cocktail !

Black Marble Gal - White Marble Guy

As usual there was no information on or with this slide.  It was just an interesting enigma.

But that's not enough to dissuade me.

using a Ouija Board, some stilton and a copy of the Austin Princess Owner's Handbook, I've figured out that this is the Shelley Memorial.  Looks like they've redecorated the room since this slide was taken.

Café Restaurant de Visscher

My intuition makes me think The Netherlands as a source of this photo, but  alas, I've not found a good match for the venue via Google.

So, let's just take a diversion to ponder the incongruity of The Dutch / Holland / The Netherlands.  What is the background?

Bonus - DAMN!

Thurbar's Linguini

It seems like a while since I last posted a Medical Slide, so let's address that.

This illustration shows the excision of Thurbar's Linguini. A tricky operation, tho' often performed by trained dentists as a sideline, it's a effective treatment for Purple Colic.

Martha, trying to catch one on the beach

Yes, it's always nice to have pictures of ladies at the beach, only wearing a swimsuit and a smile. Even if it's only Martha and her knitted cozzie. Maybe she'l get a nibble later on.

Bonus - (Checks for layers)   I have no idea what the relevance of this image is. Or why it makes me laugh.

In both sense.

Big Black Border due to the slide being a Half-Frame Slide, rather than young Joy being deceased. I suppose I could have just cropped the picture...but I like how it ended up.
