The Working Elephant

Yes, from India (or maybe Ceylon / Sri Lanka), we have a slide of a log-dragging elephant.

Not much else to say.

Bonus.  Last night, Donald Trump marked 100 days in power.

And he thinks he's done really really well.

Let that sink in for  moment.

Not Granny's Front Garden, because that would be ... weird.

No, this is the garden at the rear of Granny's Bungalow.  Nice Delphiniums.

A Happy St George's Day to all.

All throughout England, the merry citizens are celebrating the saints day of St George, the Patron Saint of Engerland, Bulgaria, Malta, Catalonia Scouting and Syphilis.

And how better to celebrate St George than with a view of Merrie Olde England.

Polperro, I think. Here?

Ooooh. A Car Park !

For a "Tedious Tuesday" slide, there's possibly a few things of interest here.

The name that you're squinting to read is "Alveston Manor Hotel", and it's still in business in ... Stratford.

The car park has an eclectic selection of classic British motor cars.

But...still dull.

Bonus 2 - Nicely done, The Times.

Shining Out Like A Shaft of Gold

Technically, this a Bad Photograph. Too much contrast between light and shade, meaning that most of the family appear as dark shadows on a dark background.

BUT I LIKE IT.  The photographer captured the exact moment that Millicent react to the gopher scurried
up he leg. She chose the wrong day to "Go Commando".

Jackboots and Ice-creams in Guernsey

Beware. The full-size image is a bit larger than normal, but there seems to be a wealth of detail in the background that may delight local researchers.

Other slides in this box had a distinct Channel Island vibe to them, and this slide is almost certainly of St Peter Port on Guernsey.

For one thing, the Sunday Mirror poster is for a book or article by Frederick W Falla who is a bit of a legend in Guernsey Historical Circles.

Beside that is a map of Guernsey.

The two shops... "Book(s) and Co" turns up accountants, but I suspect it's unrelated. "The Pioneer" is a well known name, but closed in 2011. This article does have a picture of the shop...which seems to match up with mine.

"For, By and About Teens"

I couldn't find any information about "Teen Track" magazine on the interweb, so it may be a very small, local church magazine.

And this might be the only remaining evidence of it. Weird.

I have no idea why Wilbur is so disdainful of Ella's action... but clearly he is annoyed about something.

Oh, another Church.

Yesterday, we rather missed out on a Tedious Tuesday slide, so as compensation....have a Tedious Wednesday Church slide.

Usual blank for info on the slide, but I think this is The Church at the Hospital of the Holy Cross.

The More Things Change...

So, I was browsing through the slide collection, looking for a Tedious Tuesday candidate, when THIS one popped up.

Hmmmm.    It must be an omen.

This slide probably dates from 1960's America, but I'm sure the sentiment remains with Mango Don in 2025.
