My understanding of American Teenage Culture of the Sixties, is that everyone was heading off to Proms, Summer Proms, Homecoming Proms, and Weenie-Roasts.

And, even weirder, Proms weren't just an excuse for young ladies to dress up as trainee Porn Stars. How Strange !
