Something Abstract
How to describe this ?
Ummm. Odd.
Bonus - To make up, a stunning Collapsing Iceberg. (Skip the advert, and turn down the volume (due to shrieking women ;o( )).
Bonus 2 - Unfortunate parallax effect. SFW tho' doesn't appear so.

Thought Bubbles
Maureen (Grey Stripes, glasses.) "How on earth did she make it up to assistant headmistress.... I bet she slept here way there...trollope."
Hilda (Yellow, handbag) "Come on then. I've got your false teeth in my handbag. Are you strong enough to get them from me?"
Mona (Green, obvious wig). "Oh no, not again. And why's my dress on back-to-front?"
Charmaine (Black stockings, seated on left) "The fools. They can bicker all they want, but each of their husbands lusts after me."
Mildred (Mustard, seated, red eyes) "Brains. Must consume brains. And collect souls for my master, Beelzebub"

Socks Appeal
Every year, thousands of people suffer the disappointment of horrible socks. The may appear happy on the outside, but internally, they're weeping.
Help Us to Help Them. Send us you good quality socks, and we can make sock puppets to cheer them up. You know it makes sense.
Bonus - Fluid dynamics, turbulence, refraction combine to create spectacular sky shows!
Bonus 2 - My New Hobby

Canon Pyon Road, City of Hereford
Yup. Another dull slide about roadsigns. What more can I say, except the slide was marked "Hereford Sign on A49 May 1976", and the signs have now been deleted or changed since then. (I think this is the same location.)
Bonus - Heck. Where would we be without Doors

Ancient and Modern
Some will rail against the desecration of an ancient monument, but I like this mix of ancient shell and modern seating / audience space.
Bonus - A little solitude, please.

Enos and Diptheria
From the Alvaston Arboretum, the statue of Enos and Diptheria.
They were the sons of the Greek gods Polythemus and Mildred, and constantly fought over Thebus, the magical Hammer of the Gods. Eventually, Polythemus grew weary of their bickering, and turned them both into young bulls, where their fighting could be more easily ignored.

Bonus 2 - Andy Warhol.....on Roller Skates !

Limbo Limbo
Capturing the exact moment when a party moves from "Happening" to "Swinging". Limboing under a broom, held by a George Takei impersonator.

Dunk-along-with-Max
Failed interactive Television trial.
Max Bygraves hosted an early evening programme on ITV in 1970, where he showed the masses how to "dunk" their Rich Teas in their cuppas. (Dunking was far less widespread then compared to now.)
Here, and entire hamlet in Dorset congregate at Col. Mitchels house to learn the dunking arts, using whatever they have around for practise.

Last Tram To Seaton
No info on this slide, naturally, but I can tell you that this is was originally used at Llandudno & Colwyn Bay, and was built in 1954 at Barnet. (Obviously, it was based on the ex Bournemouth open toppers
of the Llandudno & Colwyn Bay system. )
Now...it plies the trade in Seaton...in Devon, rather than Aberdeen. More info at http://www.tram.co.uk/
Bonus - Otters look like Benedict Cumberpatch

Windjammer
Curious how the brain works.
I saw this slide, and immediately the phrase Windjammer popped into my mind. This isn't actually a windjammer, but my other site does include an interesting article does include some interesting info on them.
Bonus - Engineering distraction - clock mechanism.

Sennen Cove
Perhaps it's a little bit of OCD in my personality, but I do get a little enjoyment in finding a slide with no information, and then working out where it is.
F'rexample...this slide. Sennen Cove in Cornwall, and to be exact "Tinker Taylor".
Bonus - Awesome Abandoned Building.
Oh, Very well. Bonus 2 :

Dougal Cake
This brings back memories.
No, I'm not in the picture...but the whole sparsely attended and catered birthday party, and especially the Home Made Dougal cake remind me of my childhood. No, I'm not going for the sympathy vote - life was just so much simpler then.
Bonus - Moment of Inspiration

Vertiginous
"Vertiginous" - a good Woody Word. And very apt for this slide. I REALLY want to drove over that bridge.
Suspect it's taken from the top of one of them thar Hoover-Dam type of construction, but I have no idea which one.
Bonus - This Is What Crazy Looks Like Via Text Messaging...

Freddy's Fruit Tree
Not a British slide, I suspect. A rather bounteous crop from this fruit (Apple? Orange? Pear?) tree, but could raise a smile from old Freddy.
Bonus - University of Limerick Students Union rejects claims livestock were ‘groped’ at Farmers Ball
Wednesday, 7 March 2012
Sunbirds
At the end of Autumn, Sunbirds, like Mr and Mrs Gundersen here, fly from chilly Wisconsin to sunny Florida for the winter.

Henry in his Disguise
Henry Davenport joined the CIA to fight communism and Anti-Americanism. He didn't expect to be dollied up in girdles, slips and dresses... but if that's what it took...well, so be it.
And secretly, he quiet enjoyed it. If only he could disguise his massive Charles de Gaulle hooter, he'd be happier.
Bonus - Very Odd. Hoxton Zoo

Niagara
A slightly unusual souvenir shot from the tourist magnet Niagara Falls. Better than 99% of the predictable shots you're likely to see...so a bonus point for the photographer.

People Photograph The Strangest Things...
Remember, these are all slides. For projecting. So, who would project an image from and old Sears catalogue?
Go n, answer me that !
Bonus - Quick off the mark. "Tree lobster thought to be extinct for 80 years found alive." Interesting story about the Tree Lobster. Except, the insect was rediscovered in 2001. Why's it a news story in today's Daily Mail? Ummm.....quiet day for news?

From the collection at Wall Drug - where reality takes a 180 turn..
Obviously, it's not really a Brontosaurus... that's an obsolete name, and I shoould refer to it as an Apatosaurus
