This image shows the Puente de San Martín (St. Martin's Bridge), a historic medieval bridge spanning the Tagus River in Toledo, Spain. 

Constructed in the late 14th century, the bridge features five prominent arches, with the largest central arch spanning 40 meters. It was built to provide access to the old town from the western side and is fortified with defensive towers on both ends. 

A popular legend tells that the architect's wife secretly set fire to the scaffolding to hide a structural miscalculation before the inauguration, allowing it to be rebuilt stronger.

The slide was only marked with "Tarabcon", but I reckon that this an image of the Pont de Beaucaire, in Tarascon.  More precisely, I reckon that this picture was taken from a train crossing the rail bridge just south of here.

Salt Creek Bridge

 

Any day is a good day to visit the Salt Creek Bridge, near Muskingum, Ohio. but Good Friday?   < Chef's Kiss>

Actually, this slide is dated (processed) October 1962, and seems to depict some sort of organised visit to the area. No idea why. The bridge in the background doesn't seem that interesting....and not even a covered bridge.

Frustratingly, the only info on this slide is a scribbled word "SANI".

So, I'm assuming that it's from somewhere on the Sani Pass, in South Africa.

Bonus -As you know, I sometimes find a slide, and try and track doing exactly where it was taken. Well, other people go to MUCH more extremes to do that.

A Different View...

I like this sort of slide.

At first glance, it's going to be a tricky slide location to locate. The palm tree suggests Caribbean climate, but the building has a certain well-cared-for solidity.

The purpose of the covering is to protect the wooden structural members from the weather. Uncovered wooden bridges typically have a lifespan of only 20 years because of the effects of rain and sun, but a covered bridge could last 100 years.
