Old Wetton Post Office

 

Yes, I know that this one is a bit of a cheat. A 35mm Slide of an earlier (much earlier) photograph. From the other slides in the box, the original photos seem to be late 40's early 50's....but what do I know.

The slide box was marked Wetton in Derbyshire, but that wasn't a surprise. I recognised many of the locations, and Wetton retains it's rural charm to this day.

Bloomin' chilly this morning, but no snow. It inspired me to stay in as much as possible, and to post this gorgeous slide. Makes an excellent desktop image.


It's from a box of slides marked Wetton, Derbyshire (tho' to be honest, Wetton is actually in Staffordshire) and contains original photos, and some copies of ancient sepia tinted photographs. Some cracking ones in there.

An Inconvenient Tree

Checking the Internet Surfer Responses log, I see that we have almost two replies. So, as every reader is valuable, here's one of the promised / threaten Before and After pics. Pity someone planted a tree there, blocking off most of the background. Oh well. Maybe I'll post one of the others in th future.
