After Thanksgiving

I expect that all our American readers will have been celebrating Thanksgiving yesterday.

So, today's slide is both a possible Thanksgiving Meal, AND a marking of Black Friday.

Happy Shopping

Snow-Clearing Time

So, that's The Return of President Trump. I could offer some opinions on his initial behaviour, but I fear I might get abusively rude, and Blogger might object.

So, he's a picture of someone clearing a parking space for their car.

It's Scuba Monday

I'm having a day off from work, and who knows, I might head off for a bit of Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus fun later.

Bonus - The Revillos. The only band who could make The B-52s seem like a DeathMetal band.

A Wistful Nora

Nora, wistful as ever, wonder if this is the boat that will bring her Papa Back.

It's been 57 years since he just popped out to get a pint of milk from the Co-op.

There's something about that sand ...

It's the contrast between the (moist) shoreline and the (dry) beach sand. It's TOO contrasty.

Is it possible that the whole beach has been dusted with DDT to keep the sand-flies down ?

The Yukon Baptism

Here we have Johannes Winkel, with his grandparents Victor and Vonda Vinkvogel, at Johannes' Yukon Baptism.

That's the term for the naming ceremony performed by the Bavarian enclave in the Canadian Yukon.  The child is through into the Yukon River, 3 miles upstream of the church, and the babe is fished out at the church by the minister to be baptised.

To be captured by bears during teh three-mile float is consider to be very lucky (for the bear.)

An Outstanding Natural Beauty ... and Mrs Lorimer

No info on this slide, but my diligent research suggest that this could possibly Cromer in Norfolk.

Also in this picture is Mr Lorimer, the man who invented All-Bran Smoothies.
