Fine, suits me.
So, here's a nice beach scene to make you think of holidays, sand fleas, and noisy Magyars shouting at each other.
No idea where this is, but it's probably not Iceland.
Bonus - Lose Yourself
Being a construction of your humble blogger Tepid Halibut, with the aim of posting one vintage slide image per day, from now until Kingdom Come. (Or until Mr Halibut gets bored.)
Fine, suits me.

Yes. I'm back posting slides. Again.
I have been deficient in the past month, due to a crisis on my home planet, which is now sorted...and because.... fatigue.
So, let's welcome in August with an exciting new Holiday Beach Visit slide.
I'm guessing early 1970's but ....wherever.
Bonus -
The traditional British Tabloid headline staple.
Tho' as today is a Bank Holiday, the other staple "Bank Holiday Washout" seems less appropriate. Britain has had it's hottest day in May EVER,
So, today's slide is sort of appropriate. It's been a while since the last School Goes Abroad For Easter Holiday image, and this is from the 1973 Ibiza box. Teenagers lazing on beach, saving energy for fumblings in the evening.
Bonus - Utterly Pointless
The only remotely interesting thing about this slide is that the bloke's name is Gaylord.
Maybe.
Bonus -
OK, technically, it isn't.
The English Water Spaniel died out in the 1920s-ish.
But that apparent small sand island is a doggo of some sort. The slide says "udo swimming at Constantine Bay, 1986", so ... yeah.
Bonus -
While the days are getting longer, it doe seem like summer is still along time off.
So, lets feed those pangs of nostalgia with a trip back in time to a sunny beach. It looks like some sort of Sandcastle competition, but ... it doesn't look like a castle to me.
Bonus -
Here we have Branda Schlott, a trainee sewage farm operator, enjoying her Boxing Day on the beach just outside Woolongawulla. You look marvelous, honey.
Bonus - On this date, in 1943, the German battleship Scharnhorst was sunk.
On the last Saturday in September (for this year at least), it seems suitably nostalgic to hark back to days of yore, when the family would scour the sea shore for flotsam, jetsam and mislaid bundle of cocaine, floating on-shore from narco-subs.
I think that the location is Weston-Super-Mare, but I could (probably) be wrong.
Bonus - I'm glad to see that I missed the Rapture a few days ago. Doomsday Scoreboard
Interesting and inexplicable phenomenon.
On the beach at the sunny resort o Isle of Whithorn, it is impossible to take a in-focus picture, As you can see.
No-one has every explain how or why....it just is.
Today, in an odd spare half hour, I scanned in another bunch of slides. Crazy, I know.
They were from a box, date stamped as 2009...yikes... but these ones had very limited info, but were the classic vintage cardboard Kodachrome slides. What little was written on them dated the slides to 949-1952.
And this was one of them. No info, sorry, but I'm guessing USA.
Bonus -
Some rather bold fashion choices there, notably the raffia work waste paper bin repurposed as a sun hat.
Bonus - FessHole - Your ideal place to anonymously confess what's on your soul.
I was going to tidy up this slide, and sort out the faded / low-contrast look to it.
But, I prefer it this way. Proper Retro Postcard look.
Bonus - Also today, I am making Apple Curd.
Bonus 2 -
I didn't know what to post today, but randomly perusing the slide box, this one popped up.
And I thought "Today's the anniversary of D-Day." 81 years since Operation Overlord.
I've no idea where the slide depicts, and it's 99% certain it's not Normandy. But it seemed appropriate.
Bonus -
As promised, time to move on from the Christmas / New Year / Winter slides.
So, here's someone sunbathing on a beach.
The slide has no info on the location, but that appears to be TARPON SPRINGS FLORIDA: SPONGE CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. The remains of the collapsed Battery Bigelow
Bonus -
Bonus - The Revillos. The only band who could make The B-52s seem like a DeathMetal band.
