Devils Lake, Wis South End 1956

 It's nice when a slide has a written description, and I'm guessing that Wis is short for Wisconsin.

Devil's Lake is a lake in the South Range of the Baraboo Range, about two miles south of Baraboo, Wisconsin, in Sauk County, Wisconsin, United States. It has no surface outlets, so by some definitions, it is endorheic; however, it possibly drains by underground channels into the Baraboo River, which would make the lake cryptorheic.

Still. Devil's Lake. There's gotta be a story behind that name.    Devils Lake was so named because it is situated in a deep chasm with no visible inlet or outlet.

Autumnal Sunshine

What a crackingly good sunny day we're having here in Slideville. Warm outside, with nary a cloud in the sky. So, why am I indoor, posting on the blog? - Man-Flu.     Thus, I'm clearly close to death, but still trying to satisfy my thousands of followers with this slide marked "Wyalusing Park Wis (Prairie de Chien) 1956".

Well, maybe not thousands.  Dozens ??      well, technically nope.
