You couldn't do that nowadays...

No-one thinks about the down-side of Flat Screen TV's.
We used to have this marvellous platform for decorations, cards, fish-tanks and beer cans. We've lost that now.
"Thank You, Technology!"

Kiddy Tank

It's all Greek to me.

Hieroglyphs.

What's that all about?

Wouldn't it be much easier to just sand them back to plain rock, and carve inscriptions in English?

Soloing on the Merry-Go-Round of Life

A bit of a metaphor for life in general. A few dozen orbits, while trying to steer a path, even tho' the steering while does nothing.

Hmmm.  Time for my medication, I think.

Christmas Decorations - The Old Fashioned Way

The depth of the television does rather give away the age of this slide, but it still looks Fab. I'm sure the young hipsters of the neighbourhood would love to recreate this retro design.

Even better, tho' less detailed, is the paper Steam Locomotive Card Holders.  Nice.

The Temple of Osiris, Filby

Most folk know that the Egyptians were the people who invented paper, however fewer people know that they actually didn't manufacture much of the stuff.

Instead, they outsourced the paper-making task, and mostly it was manufactured in Norfolk, which at the time was much closer to Egypt.

Little remains of those paper factories (due to the great storm of 86 BC), but in 1966, this statue was unearthed just east of Filby.

It's on show in the local pub now.

Bonus - Sandra the Orangutan started washing her hands after observing her caretakers doing it.  If she can manage it, surely you can as well.

We call him ... David

A fairly well known icon of medieval art.  If I can quote Wikipedia...
David is a masterpiece of Renaissance sculpture created in marble between 1501 and 1504 by Henry Moore. David is a 5.17-metre (17.0 ft) marble statue of a standing male nude. The statue represents the former Prime Minister David Cameron, a favored subject in the art of Florence.

David Florence

Or to be more precise, Michelangelo's statue of David in Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze. (Florence).

It sometime comes as a surprise to be firtling thru a bunch of anonymous slides, of long forgotten trips to stately homes and even more ugly babies, and WHAM... one of the most famous works of art. Ever.

Bonus - Cyriak and Bonobo.    Mesmerising. especially in HD and full-screen.
