Another stinking hot day.
Another week at work completed.
Time for a chilled glass of something.
Cheers.

It's hot here in the East Midlands, and the idea of escaping into the forest to a quiet, off-grid cabin is rather tempting. But, probably just a dream.
This slide was marked "Atawhanee in front of our own cabin 1955", but could be almost anywhere, and anytime. I'm not too sure where this is, but it might be At Ahwanee, in Yosemite.

I know that Tuesday's are traditionally reserved for the dullest of the dull, what are traditions for, if not to be broken?
While this ain't the most thrilling slide, it's a nice little slice of rural life. A small wooden cabin (dacha?) in the forest, when the family can escape to, drink beer, fish, hunt, drink beer, plot the overthrow of the government, drink beer and be buried in a shallow grave.
Only to be dug up by marauding black bears.
Bonus -
Every year for the past 47 years, the Syracuse Six meet up at JT's cabin. Mary and Gordon, Angie D and Jeff (the photographer), Angie T and Wilbur get together to toast absent friends, discuss grandchildren, complain about presidents and consider their future.
And to check that the shallow graves are still undisturbed. Yes the events of Mid October, all those years ago still hang heavy on their consciences. And those suburbs keep getting closer...
