This image depicts the Cité de Refuge, a historic Salvation Army hostel located at 12 Rue Cantagrel in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France. The building was designed by the renowned modernist architect Le Corbusier in collaboration with Pierre Jeanneret and was constructed between 1929 and 1933. It is celebrated as a significant monument of the modern architectural movement, featuring a bold concrete block design and a distinctive facade.

 I'm of a particular age, and do recall lecturer using slid projectors to illustrate certain subjects, so can understand the background to this Tedious Tuesday image.

The Great Pyramid of Cheops has eight sides, not four. Each of the pyramid's four side are evenly split from base to tip by very subtle concave indentations.

Prom Queen of Yesteryear

 

Alas, even with the best will in the world, not every old slide is a  classic. 

This slide, labelled as Prom June-56 Me and Mom, is faded, speckled and unfocused. Even with a mild bit of noise removal, and correction, it will never be as good as intended.

But, it captures an important moment is a girls life, and can never be recaptured. Sixty Five years on... I wonder what happened to them.
