I've been on holiday, in the crazy town of Newton Stewart, in Dumfries and Galloway.

And now I'm back.

However, it looks like Louisiana Supreme Court Building in the centre.

Golf, I believe, is the zenith of tedious spectator sports.

So what could be more sports-tedious that a golf course, and without even any golfers.

Bonus - Straw Bear festival

You've just missed it. The traditional event features a ‘Straw Bear’ and its children being led through the streets of the village of Whittlesey in Cambridgeshire followed by morris dancers. 

At The Fulchester County Fayre

 

Yes, today is the day of the Funchestershire County Fayre, so I dug out this slide from a previous event. An aroused young man is admiring the fillies depicted in the tableaux, while Professor Blumpkin's Marvelous Orchestra Seam Organ is pumping away in the background. (Professor B is shown bottom right, exhausted from his efforts.

Excellent entertainment for the kiddies.

The Star Of The Motor Show

 

Although the sign in the background is Peugeot, I actually think that this vehicle is a Renault 6. And that starring role on the display stand makes me think that this image is taken at the 1968 Paris Motor Show, where this car was unveiled.

Delightfully Retro Vehicle.

Henrys Stinky Horn

 

Henrys Stinky Horn  (macrodorous lemurus henrii) is the common name of a variety of Melon Conifer, endemic to Eastern Utah..

Discovered by Omar Henry in 1873, it gets it's name from the overpowering scent of Belgian Waffles exuded from it's spent seed carrier (shown).  The reason for the odour is unknown.

Grandma's Favourite

 

Wee Robbie was always Grandma's favourite.

In later years, Robbie grew to hate that crushed velour turquoise outfit, especially when it scuppered his chances of heading death-metal MegaStars "Dethklok."
