Spring Has Arrived

First warm, sunny, Saturday of the year, and the neighborhood is filled with the sound of lawnmowers, hedge-trimmers, strimmers and barking dogs.

Soon to be joined by the smell of greasy bar-b-q.  Great way to spoil the mood. :-(

First Day of Summer Time

Yes, clocks went back (or is it forward) last night, so I'm hoping for sunshine and flowers today. If they arrive, I'll be dressing up in suit and stripy socks, and head off with my toy gun to shoot some daffodils. (Damned Dirty Daffodils.)

It's just a hunch, but I suspect that many blog visitors look forward to the semi-regular pictures of kids. Who am I to deny you your enjoyment.

This is Carl * and he's clearly thrilled to have his first go on the backyard swing after a long winter. (He's wrapped up warm, and the trees are leaf-less, so I'm guessing it's spring.)

* This was in a box of American slides, but I've no idea of where / when / who, so it could well be a George...or Sven...or Malcolm.  But he looks like a Carl I think.
