After receiving very nearly one comment on yesterday's slide, it seemed obvious that today deserved another Chrimbo Kids Fashion slide.

And from 1959, we have matching kids xmas jammies. Nice.

Thankfully, yesterday's wet and windy weather has eased into moist and breezy.  Alas, it's still "nae warm!".

But I'm not as bad as this slide, marked as "Nov-1950 Snow on Morrison Avenue CF".  I suppose CF might be California, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Red -Hatted Butchers

There's a great box of slide in the collection, marked "Koosharem, Utah", and seems to depict a Fall 1950 hunting expedition.  Proper tents, and lots and LOTS of freshly butchered venison.

Why the Red Hats ?   Fashion statement, or may an attempt to avoid being shot by so many red-necked hunters.

How Strange.

After a slide about Mysterious Corner, I disappear (mysteriously) for a week.

So, in honour of the cold wind and sunshine we're having here, here's a slide which was labelled "Snow and Cold 1 Nov 1950". It's from the Camp Koosharem set. Obviously.

Cold Early Morning

Nowadays, it's a common site seeing 4x4 tackling the tricky terrain of the school, run, so it's a little disconcerting to see a normal sedan tackling a track so far from tarmacked suburbia.  Classy little trailer, by the way.

Finally, a slide with some context. "Charly Dean - Broad View Oct 1950" and a box marked as "Camp - Koosharem, Utah".

From the rest of the slide, it appears that a bunch of middle aged guys spend an autumn weekend hunting and butchering deer.

Prancer's Demise

Yes, in November 1950, Prancer couldn't make the grade at the Sleigh Tryout Trials, and Hank Claus (in red hat) put him out of his misery. After that, a new Prancer was recruited, and served faithfully for many years.

What?  You thought Santa's reindeer were immortal?   Shame on you.
