Tho' as today is a Bank Holiday, the other staple "Bank Holiday Washout" seems less appropriate. Britain has had it's hottest day in May EVER,

So, today's slide is sort of appropriate. It's been a while since the last School Goes Abroad For Easter Holiday image, and this is from the 1973 Ibiza box. Teenagers lazing on  beach, saving energy for fumblings in the evening.

That's what was written on the slide, and indeed a quick bit of research reveals that on the state of Wyoming, the practise amongst the ethnic Albanians was for decorative trees to be put out for Easter.

The differed from the more normal Christmas Tree was that the Easter Tree featured no star at the top (the star being an Islamic symbol) and the sweet treats on the branches were based upon mutton and cardamon.

 It's Easter Sunday, so that means dress the kids up in their finest clobber, with bonnets for the girls, obviously, and off to church for a boring sermon on Jesus and the imminent Communist threat to Bogtown in Idaho.

However, this one looks more like the pre departure, pale skin version of Thora and Margaret.

Salt Creek Bridge

 

Any day is a good day to visit the Salt Creek Bridge, near Muskingum, Ohio. but Good Friday?   < Chef's Kiss>

Actually, this slide is dated (processed) October 1962, and seems to depict some sort of organised visit to the area. No idea why. The bridge in the background doesn't seem that interesting....and not even a covered bridge.

Today, we have another from the "Boxes of Slides From School Trips at Easter" selection, and this is from Ibiza 1973.

I'm calling this young lady Donna, because, well, I'm not sure of he name, but I think her lapel badge is of Donny Osmond. And there not really much more to say on the subject.

I could speculate that she was a favourite of Mr Peebles, the Teacher / Chaperone / Photographer....but that's just speculation.

Or maybe it's David Cassidy on the badge.

All dressed up for their trip to the Easter Service at St Botulism's Orthodox Church, tye family were let down by Pa, who' chose the Unorthodox path to Jesus.

Time to check in with te Class of 73, and their School Easter Trip to Ibiza.

After a couple of escapades in the local Night Club, the teachers clearly thought that having a photograph of the whole motley crew could be helpful to the local police / Embassy legal team.
