The lad didn't realise that his dad was a loyal guy in the Stromboli family, and ... I've said too much.

Being a construction of your humble blogger Tepid Halibut, with the aim of posting one vintage slide image per day, from now until Kingdom Come. (Or until Mr Halibut gets bored.)
The lad didn't realise that his dad was a loyal guy in the Stromboli family, and ... I've said too much.

Go on, have a guess of where and when.
The think it's 1963, and the Banco Nacional de Fomento in Asuncion, Paraguay.
Nice Building
We've not had many slides from Paraguay.

A quick brightness and tone adjustment, and ...
...nope. Person in car. Dull.
Bonus - Antipodean Map of the world.
Before "Dogging" and "Wild Swimming" were socially acceptable activities (in Hampshire at least) Skinny Dipping was the outdoor nudity activity of choice for the commuter belt round London.
Here, Hilda Brackenshaw prepares for a dip in WasteWater, one of the filthiest of the lakes in the Lake District. This slide, and the subsequent "artistic" images was taken by her husband / gimp / fluffer George.

No info on this slide, except for a date of October 1967. From the selection of cars, my first thought was "That must be London."
But I was wrong.
With a bit of investigating, I believe that this is actually Dublin in Eire. The "Happy Ring" building was strangely of little help...initially, but did eventually help after finding this image.
Nowadays, that area is very similar, but MUCH leafier. https://maps.app.goo.gl/8RPGTC1GtrTkEskh9
Nice.
December tomorrow. Ow Shit. Another year almost over.
This slide was marked "Zion Natl Park - Utah - Russ Nov 1950".
Yup. Looks Awesome.
Bonus -
This is from a set / box marked as "Camp - Koosharem, Utah", and with slides dated 1949 and Oct/Nov 1950. So, gulp, 75 years ago. Nice.
Most of the slides show men enjoying a deer hunting camp, and a proper camp in tents, rather than some swanky luxury cabin. Mmmm, Venison.
Bonus - Of all things in the US Presidential campaign that made me cringe, this was the most painful.
The weekend is here, and it's time to pile everyone into a car, and head off for some mischief.
Bonus - How to Shoot an Anvil 100 Feet in the Air - You Have Been Warned
Summer time, and time for another slide from the Woodchurch Carnival 1968 set.
What's not to love about this slide?

Looks like somewhere in Germany, so maybe I should shout the German word for taxi, which is...
. TAXI !!
Bonus - One in Three Biden Supporters Think Trump Shooting Might Have Been Staged. ( Sigh... :-( )
Hi Everyone.
It's Sunday, and time for everyone to put on their Sunday Best clothes (skinned animals if possible), leap into their monstrously large Station Wagons, and head off to hear some parable that gives them reason to look down on the poor and needy.
Bonus - The Red Lipped Batfish
No info on this ere slide, but .... Oops.
Sorry. Meeting of the Neighbourhood Watch committee tonight, so I have to head off and hide the stuff that I nick from neighbours' gardens.

Leaving (or arriving) , we feature Maureen in today's slide. In a VW Beetle.
Maureen is an honours student of home economics and slaughterhouse butchery, and is looking for a serious boyfriend.

While the ladies of the party collectively change into something more comfortable, they gentlemen are banished to the driveway to wait.

Cars of my youth. Ah.
From 1978, this slide clicked so many buttons for me...especially as I owned an Austin Princess.Oh yes !

Summer 1969, and Frank's bought this years model of the ... well, something.
No doubt it has a big block engine, space for 6 bodies in the trunk, and awallowing nature on corners.
Bonus - Violent pictures of North Korean anti-American propaganda art, 1950-1970
It appears to me like this is 1991's New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run, and you won't convince me otherwise.
Glad to say that the run is still ongoing. (As in, it's still run annually, not that some of the 1991 cars are still to get to the finish line.)
Bonus -
As usual, limited information, other than being processed in September 1966, but I interpret this is Jack and Diane, heading off from their wedding, ready to start a whole new life together.
The battered old car isn't really part of the fairy-tale wedding, but .... not everyone gets a convertible.
