No info on this slide, but I have a feeling it could be Trondheim in Norway.

The palm trees were originally a concern, but when I realised that these ones were merely painted plaster props from the Norwegian Film "Amundsen in Antigua", I realised I was right.

This slide came up on the random slide selector, and I almost dismissed it as..."oh, just a boring suburban park with some sculptures."

Then I notice the sculptures.  Odd. Quite odd.

Luckily, that one of the right looked familiar, and I narrowed the location down to be Vigeland Sculpture Park.

VERY odd.

The Shaft

It's art, and it's a shaft of naked men.   May I've been infected by mild snowflake-ism, but ... that's a little strange.

Obviously, I do know that this is from Oslo’s Vigeland Park, which is the largest sculpture park in the world by a single artist, boasting over 200 pieces by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland.

The Plucky Little Lighthouse

No information on this slide, but I'm getting a vibe of Norway and Lighthouses from it. ANd a damned nice little image, in my opinion.

Ostracized On A Rock

When the small Norwegian community of Skoglholt  found out about the unnatural desires of the threesome of Agnes, Marta and Carlos, they subjected then to the most severe punishment that their church.

They were stranded on a rock in the stream for a period of three hours, one summer afternoon.

It is a very silly punishment.

Not A Cephalophore

Thanks to this slide, I have today (accidentally) learned a new word.

A cephalophore (from the Greek for "head-carrier") is a saint who is generally depicted carrying his or her own head. In Christian art, this was usually meant to signify that the subject in question had been martyred by beheading.

Thru' the use of Google-Fu, I can positively state that this is from Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. More Info

It's an odd hobby I suppose.  Have a look as an old slide, and try and figure out where it was taken.

Here's there are very few clues - other thank the centre-left building having a sign saying Oslo O.

Which just might be a clue.

Man Attacked by Babies

So, there I was thinking I should post a slide today. However, it is Father's Day here in the YooKay, and I wanted something slightly appropriate.

And this one looked suitable. A little blurred, but... that statue on the right seemed fitting.

The only info on the slide was "1969", but I'm sure recognise "Man Attacked By Babies" in Vigeland Sculpture Park
