Otter Rock

Otter Rock is one of the most famous landmarks in Cricklewood. Situated in Rutherford Park, next to the yachting pond, it's a granite erratic dating back to the middle Mesolithic era.

It gets its name from its resemblance to a the Cricklewood Otter (Musatoid Crickleii) which was hunted to excinction in the late 13th Century.

No info on this underexposed slide, but as soon as I saw it, I was sure I'd seen this megalith before. My recollection was Men Tal, but a quick Google told me it was Men An Tol. How sad is my memory.
