Rodeo Practise Night

 People sometimes ask what the point of collecting other folks slides is, and ... and frankly I'm not really sure.  Little moments of real life captured forever, but saved from the rubbish bin.

Sometimes, I happen across a slide and think that some band, somewhere is screaming out for a certain image for the cover of their latest CD, and I might just have it.

So, sometimes, I mock up imaginary CDs.  I guess even that is going the way of silver-based photography. CD Sales have been dropping since, well, since I started collecting slides.

I've no idea if this slide was taken in the Big Sky state (Montana), but it sure looks like it. One of a bunch of slides from a trans-America train ride, something that must very much be a minority activity now.

A View Of The Badlands

 

A wonderful slide from the forties or fifties, and I'm assuming it is of somewhere in the Badlands of( South Dakota?).

The slide has deteriorated a little, with some colour desaturation, but I still like it.

Actually, my Search Minions suggest that this might be Beartooth Highway, Montana, and ... it looks quite possible.
