Yes, they've finally done it. After a couple of years of friendship, and one disappointing knee-trembler behind Adkinson's Butchers, Bert and Mave have done it.

They've announced their engagement.

well, there's no photoshopping or mucking about with contrast or colours.  Which makes it all the more remarkable that this Kodachrome Slide is 75 years old.   No, really.

This slide is marked "Jack and Elaine", and is dated 1943. I have to imagine that as Ensign Jack heads off to war, he and Elaine decide to get engaged...thus this slide.  I wonder what their story is...
