Buster
(He's a cat.)
Obviously.

Being a construction of your humble blogger Tepid Halibut, with the aim of posting one vintage slide image per day, from now until Kingdom Come. (Or until Mr Halibut gets bored.)
I was going to tidy up this slide, and sort out the faded / low-contrast look to it.
But, I prefer it this way. Proper Retro Postcard look.
Bonus - Also today, I am making Apple Curd.
Bonus 2 -
So, yesterday I mentioned I'd remodelled the back garden.
And in the evening, the neighbours invited themselves round. Nice.
They suggested that I'd copied the design from The Greek Theatre, in Lochcarron (Scotland), but I couldn't comment.
Bonus - My car is watching over me...
I didn't know what to post today, but randomly perusing the slide box, this one popped up.
And I thought "Today's the anniversary of D-Day." 81 years since Operation Overlord.
I've no idea where the slide depicts, and it's 99% certain it's not Normandy. But it seemed appropriate.

...diabolical things are being planned.
Blogger's T&Cs mean that I cannot reveal what happened here, nor who these three folk are.
But, Donal Trump and Soup may be involved.

On of the local scandals which has rather faded from the Climthorpe village heritage is the 1978 Summer Fete Scandal.
It seemed a fairly standard summer fayre, with the Climthorpe and Fustleton Volunteer Fire Department putting on a demonstration of "How to rescue a cat from a tree" using the Dennis Rotating Fire Ladder. (Shown in the slide image)
What emerged later was that Mr Wilkins, the CFVFD stunt cat had wandered off for a snooze, and wasn't available for the demonstration. Rather than disappoint the masses, Fire Chief McDonald "borrowed" one of the Vietnamese Boat Folk kids from the Orphanarium display, put them in fancy dress cat costume, then chased them up a tree.
No harm done, and Sgt Fitzhugh wasn't minded to raise a report....but ill-feeling remained for several years.
Bonus - Why do we love telling stories about the end of the world?
Hey folks. Wouldn't it be interesting to try and track down this house, and figure out where in the world it was?
Nah. Probably not.
Luckily, the slide is annotated with "May-1975-Glenview Trevelmond".
Looks like a nice part of Cornwall, tho' that slide doesn't do it justice.
Bonus - New Sport - Cat Drifting
No info on this slide, not even a date. Dammit.
My first thought was this this was Burgh Island, in Devon...a small tidal island near Bigbury-on-Sea in England, which is remembered for its association with Agatha Christie and its grand Art Deco hotel.
But, on second view....nah !

Looking forward to Summer, so I've spent the afternoon remodelling the back garden, ready for the Summer Season of Greek Tragedies, and Shakespear comedies, culminating in Wagner's Ring Cycle, features a cast of several.
LSD is a heck of a drug.
Bonus - Netflix is different now — and there’s no going back
