Meanwhile, in a back street in Albi...

 

The only info on the slide was "Albi", and immediately my brain started wondering - The Italian One or The French One.

Looking at the slide..."Yeah, that looks like the French Cathedral."

In fact, this seems to be close to the modern view on Streetview.

Also quite interesting, a closer look reveals the restaurant La Case Creole. And that's giving me a hunger for some Jambalaya...

Reunion of the Bonetti Brothers

 

Despite their disagreements and ...troubles... over the years, the Bonetti Brothers still meet up for a Christmas Reunion. And for that one event, Guiseppi relaxes his guard a little, and slips his "Witness Protection" escort,, tho' he retains his alternative personality / disguise.

Paulo and Leonardo aren't sure about the "Witness Protection ID" story, but ... family is family.

"The Church" Restaurant and "The Belfry"

 

Yes, another of those Then and Now pairs.

Again, there was no info written on the slide, so where do you start in trying to search for a location. Luckily, I iz a genius, and in a mere 76 hours, I'd tracked the location down.

The Church restaurant has since closed, but it was at 70 Brunswick Street, Stratford, Ontario. 

Thanks to Google Streetview, I can confirm that the building looks very VERY similar in 2020.

No ... It's a Floating Restaurant.

Thanks to Google (other search engines are available) I was able to confirm that this is The Oceania Floating Restaurant, probably from it's time moored in Honolulu (Hawaii, USA)

The Coney Island Grill, and neighbouring shops, which is obviously located in ... St. Petersburg, Miami.From just this slide, I have managed to track down the location, and while the are has been extensively redeveloped, that building is distinctive. There is an image of the place from 

I love slides like this - real social history, so I've left this slide as full sized and un-cleaned, so enthusiasts can grab all the small details for themselves.

The slide is undated, but seems to be from the late 1950s, and the diner / grill survived until recently, but closed in March 2021.

The customers seem very American, and not very Wedding-y, and the venue looks quite non-oriental...except for the emergency exit sign in ... Chinese?

This one has definite clues to its location. Alas, "El Caballo"  ("The Horse") seems to have been a popular name for Tapas Restaurants, so I've not narrowed the location down any closer than "probably Madrid.".
