Another sunny day here in Derbyshire.
Perfect for a trip to the farm, in what looks like a Bitchin' shirt.
Bonus - For those, like me, who prefer chillier weather.
Being a construction of your humble blogger Tepid Halibut, with the aim of posting one vintage slide image per day, from now until Kingdom Come. (Or until Mr Halibut gets bored.)
Another sunny day here in Derbyshire.
Perfect for a trip to the farm, in what looks like a Bitchin' shirt.
Bonus - For those, like me, who prefer chillier weather.
The lad didn't realise that his dad was a loyal guy in the Stromboli family, and ... I've said too much.
Bonus -
Imagine your surprise if you woke up and found this set of ankle-biters under your tree. Yeuch.
I mean, they may look cute, but ... No.
As usual, it's the small details that I notice:
Bonus : Friends - Skip Intro
Whatever.
Bonus : Firefighters eat sausages made of piglets they saved from blaze. Out of the fire, into the frying pan.
It's strange how often a random slide image unlocks a song lyric in my brain. In this case, from The Model by Kraftwerk.
This slide makes me happy. No info on it, unfortunately, and the blouse is slightly over-exposed, but the model, the fashion, the pose - Pure Fifties Glamour.
Bonus - and to bring to mood down a little, from the Local News section... Aldi customer says she found 'bumhole in stewed steak tin'
Especially when Carol looks as good as this.
Actually, not sure if the slide really is a Christmas-time slide, or just a model in a red dress, but I really could < Sexist banter deleted>
Bonus - How A Fake Band Made A Christmas Classic
Today's Yule Lad - Ketkrókur Meat Hook Uses a hook to steal meat.

Here to spoil your Christmas are the Fargles, the Festive Family From Fleetwood.
From the left, Felicity Fargle, Frannie Fargle, Fifi Fargle, Fergus Fargle and Gladys Hinchsmith. I could explain, but.... it's not really that interesting.
Bonus -
Today's Yule Lad - Gluggagægir Window Peeper A snoop who looks through windows in search of things to steal.
Yes, A and N are round again this evening, to discuss what important lessons have been learned from 2024.
Accompanied by Scrumpy Jack, spicy pizzas and naming the countries of Africa. Including Benin.
Bonus - Life Pro Tip - Want to get the snow off your car? Use your leaf blower!
Today's Yule Lad - Pottaskefill Pot Scraper Steals pots to scrape out the leftovers.
Nope. Not here in chilly Derbyshire.
But, this slide from California, late summer 1959 shows Mrs Bushman preparing an outdoor spread for the Bushman family. Nice to see an appearance from some Tupperware containers at this vintage time.
Bonus -
I wish I knew more about this girl. Who she was, where she was from, whether that was a special outfit .... all that sort of stuff.
But, all I know is that this vibrant slide dates from the early sixties, and there's a reasonable chance that this lady has departed this earthly plane.
Hmmm.
Bonus - ‘The working class can’t afford it’: the shocking truth about the money bands make on tour.
Bonus 2 -
I'm looking forward to a meal out with "The Gang" tonight. Just a small local restaurant, and nothing as fancy as this lot - No Hats are likely to be deployed by the ladies.
Bonus : Enya + Vic Reeves
Bonus 2 : Noel Edmunds. Seriously odd down under
The main image (above) of Guests At An Event in 1963, suffers from the harsh nature of photographic flash-bulbs of the time. A bright flash of magnesium, 2 inches above the camera, gave a very flat washed-out image of the subject.
Zomie-like I would say.
So, as an experiment, I took the original image and reduced it to mono-chrome (second image).
I then uploaded it to Palaette.fm to see what their AI coloration algorithms would do. And the result - the third image. Hmm, not bad.
By day, they are Three Lawyer's Assistant, a Mortuary Attendant and an Undercover Nun.
By night, they are The Muncie Playboys, dedicated to fun, laughter music and some inspirational prayer. As endorsed by Bishop Brennan of St Botolph's.
Bonus - R.I.P Andy Rourke, bassist of The Smiths.
It was a simpler time.
It was September 1959, according to the slide, and a young lad could spend hours entranced, going in circles, riding a fairground merry-go-round horse.
And the horse was called Starlight.
Bonus - Gutta percha: forgotten material of the communication revolution.
Bonus 2 -
