Panda Preserves

A bit of a dichotomy - Tedious Tuesday and Pandas, natures evolutionary mistake.

More precisely, a slide from a commercial set of slides labelled "Pandas and their World." And this was the most tedious slide.

Bonus - The Whale That’s Known Only by the Sound of Its Voice

Bonus 2 - Naturally, my first thought on seeing Preserves of the Giant Panda was

Giant Panda Jam

Future Sausages

Just about to cook some sausages for my evening meal (Yeah, crazy.)  Wild Boar and Chilli ones from a local butcher.

So, when this slide appeared, it was the obvious choice for today.

Nom Nom.

Bonus - People don't realise, Argentina is BIG.

Bonus 2 - A dad was washing his car with his son.

"Why can't you use a towel or sponge like other people?" asked the son.

Are You 'aving A Giraffe?

The slide suggest that this is at Whipsnade Zoo in 971.

Looking at the patterns of the skin, I'd say that these are West African Giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis peralta), but perhaps some passing zoo fiend to confirm or deny this.

Bonus - Who is this Rorschach, and why does he have so many pictures of my parents fighting?

The Three Seals of Approval

Keen zoologists will recognise these as being Hapsberg Seals, the only seals native to Austria.   Usually found need Innsbruck, these ones are actually in the Secret Zoo in the Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte.

Bonus - A forest of immensely tall and unusually straight oak trees planted nearly 200 years ago to build naval ships that never came to be.

Bonus 2 - Happy Birthday Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips !

Probably Not St Ives, Cornwall.

A fine shot of three of Reginald Iolanthe Perrin's Mother-In-Laws, but despite being in the same box of slides as yesterdays, I doubt this shot was taken in Cornwall.

Dorset, perhaps.

Bonus - Ying and Yang

Savannah Wildlife

I have to admit that Savannah Wildlife does sound like the name of a faded porn-star / stripper...but in this case it's a slide of an African Watering hole, and the myriad of animals that congregate there.

Alas, this is not a great photo, tho.... there... just above the flock of white birds....

Is that an elephant?    Yes, I suspect it might be.

Bonus -Americans own 40 percent of world's firearms

Honky on a Donkey

I'm almost certain that someone will complain about the derogatory racial epithet used in the title, but I don't care.

Even with millions and millions of blog-readers (I wish), I'm prepared to suggest that the complainants ...

Worst Theme Park Ever

It probably seemed like a good idea at the time, but Ass-World was a disaster.

An attempt to attract tourists to southern Sinai, Ass-World featured only one genuine ass, and he couldn't do all of the tricks that were advertise.  One scathing review in Theme Park World, and Ass-World closed in 1973.

Bonus - Coco, Ice-T's wife, demonstrates what "More Money Than Sense" looks like.

Goat Rump

Goat Rump were an Indie-Pop band who the NME tipped for greatness in 2010, on the basis of their first single "Spittoon Blues".

Alas, the single flopped, and the band soon disbanded.

Their name was inspired by the 1980's phenomenon of Goat Rump Scratching. Children believed that scratching the hind quarters of a goat would please it so much that the goat would produce fresh cookie dough for the delighted children.

Children are stupid.

Mohammed's Small Ass

Mohammed loves his little ass, thou he knows that as it grows older, it may become less lovable. Smelly, lazy and hairy...like is dad's ass. Til then, he'll take care of it, and love it - despite the need for an occasional need for a  poke.

The Origin of Goat-Boy

It seemed like a normal family trip to Whipsnade Zoo, one Easter, but it was here that young Gerald that started his journey to become Goat-Boy.

Years later, miscreants and super-villains in Luton would fear the name Goat-Boy, Defender of Justice - and his side-kick Nanny Girl. Now, who might that be....
