Yes, I said it.

The UK has just had its hottest ever June day, for the second day in a row.  A provisional temperature of 36.7C has been recorded in Merryfield, Somerset - making it a new record temperature for June in England  Locally, temperatures above 33°C were seen here in Slideville.

So, like these folks from 1970's America, I hop you all have a shady park to go and rest in.

Derverlea Products - Trade Show.

 

For decades, if you popped into an English Pub, the walls were adorned by loads of horse brasses, copper pans, copper trumpets, brass salvers, etc. Save with restaurants and guest houses. Proud antiques, from a family's ancestors?

Nope. Manufactured tat. And one of the famous manufacturers was Derverlea Products, of Birmingham. And in this side, we see one of their displays at a trade show in Blackpool in Feb 1970. Shite, the lot of it, IMHO.

Looks like a coach trip, with a cheeky chappy driver who caught the attention if the the photographer.

Slide is dated May 1970, but other than that .... nada.

The passenger door location makes be think it's continental Europe, an indeed the front of the bus reminds me of this MAN coach.

School Field Trip to Dove Valley

 

Some lovely girls on a school trip to the Dove Valley, back in 1970. Whether it was for a geography project, or just as a day out .... who know?

In response to very nearly one comment, yesterday's meal out at Seven was fine.  Good food, but a bit noisy for an old fart like me, and a PITA prepubescent waiter who had a sky high opinion of themselves.

Limited info (better than No Info) and this is a school trip to Dove Holes. My first thought was the small village of Dove Holes, close to Buxton.

However, it's probably /possibly Dove Holes Cave in Dovedale. As seen here.  Or here
