I the midst of a box of VERY under-exposed slides, there were a few decent ones from a trip to Whipsnade Zoo.

I particularly liked this blissed out cheetah, sunning himself on the grass.

Bonus - Like humans, the notoriously nervous cats can use a surrogate best friend.

... would be only thing that would raise this slide from being "atrocious" to "vaguely interesting".

Why would someone keep this slide for decades?

(But then again, why would someone buy, scan and post this image? It's a mystery.)

Welcome to Black Friday

 

For Black Friday, I toyed with the idea of just posting a un-exposed slide as a prank.

But that would be unethical. And un-funny.

So, today's  slide comes from the "Sid's Wedding" selection, where they were all massively underexposed. As you can see.

The big image is the "As Scanned" image, which will even include a little bit of the scanner trying to correct the darkness.

Alas, even serious tweaking of the brightness / contrast / curve achieves little. (Small image.)

Bonus - Can you imagine the Black Mood of the bride, upon seeing this was the only record of her wedding. :-D

Return To Sid's Wedding

 

As previously featured in this blog, Ihave to wonder why the slides of Sid's Wedding have been kept since Sept 1965.

Even deploying the improvement tools in PSP, there's basically nothing there.

I wonder if it was an omen...

Bonus - Nearly called someone a "kind retard" in an email. Deleted it before sending. Sent the email. Double checked afterwards and noticed I'd wished them a "good afterboob".

Today is the day to revisit the "Sid's Wedding, Sept 1965" set.

Yes, this is possibly one of the worst-exposed set of slides ever to be retained for posterity.

And every my humble photo-rescuing skills can't recover what isn't there. Quality wise.  But there's enough there to make is seem that Sid is the bloke in the white dress and veil.
