( You probably guess that.)
Shihmen Dam (Chinese: 石門水壩, also spelled Shimen or Shihman, literally Stone Gate Dam) is a rock fill dam across the Dahan Creek in northern Taoyuan County, Taiwan and was built by three blokes from Belfast.. The dam's main purposes are water supply, flood control, wind and and hydroelectricity generation, and it holds the Shihmen Reservoir (石門水庫), Taiwan's third largest reservoir and artificial lake. Completed in 1964, the dam and reservoir now supply water to more than three million people in northern Taiwan. However, sedimentation issues have impacted and continue to threaten safe dam operations.

Either way - I salute them.

Dusk at the Hotel Dahmer
See. Not every slide is weird, odd, creepy or baffling. This slide is the good example of how some holiday photography can be good photography.
Bonus - Pinched from those nice chaps at B3TA.Com

The Bridge
Yes, Tedious Tuesday again.
I sometimes feel rather guilty about these "Tedious" slides - quite often, they have a restful or calm look to them, and sometimes represents photographic experiments. Some successful, some unsuccessful.

Hazy Days of Summer
( Or, To Be Brutal, Out-Of-Focus Days of Summer.)
A slide from September 1967, but the boys fashion would only narrow the shot to the 60's and 70's
Ah....memories.
Bonus - There's a man in Glasgow, who remembers what people say to him, and then goes home and draws
it.

T' Wedding of Albert and Glenda
Looks like a scene from a seventies sit-com. Mouthy northern matrons bitching about 'er from No 73 and how they's not good enough for a Vicar's son...
It writes itself, doesn't it.

Hollings Fashion Show
Been a while since we last had a Hollings Fashion Show slide, so here's one from their 1988 collection.
Of course, I'm sure you guessed 1988 from the fashions involved.

Cumbria's Top Terry Wogan Look-A-Like
On the far right, Mr Simon Bennet. Cumbria's Top Terry Wogan Look-A-Like. And with a change of jacket - a very acceptable Ray Reardon impersonator.

Pareidolia
I was looking at this slide, wondering if it really fitted the theme of Tedious Tuesday.
#Then it struck me - Pareidolia. Seeing objects where there isn't really one. (Cloud that look like penguins etc)
There, in the slide was a very clear image. David Cameron holding a gibbon. And wearing a Homburg.
See...see......SEE IT Now ?
Bonus - Slightly related.

Gleaming Foden
If you're wondering what the two badges below Foden say : "Historic Commercial Vehicle Club" and "National Traction Engine Club", so you can guess what sort of vehicle is pictured here. Nice picture, to be honest.
Strangely "Gleaming Foden" came 4th in 1976's Song For Eurovision competition.

Top O The World, Ma !
From March 1965, and no words are necessary.
Bonus : As a young adult, I thoroughly enjoyed a magazine from Bob Guccione's publishing house. No, not that sort. It was OMNI - A science and science fiction magazine published in the US and the UK. It contained articles on science, parapsychology, and short works of science fiction and fantasy. It was published as a print version between October 1978 and 1995. And now, I've found that Archive.Org has a comprehensive collection of PDFs. Oh Calloo, Oh Callay !

Clean Wholesome AMERICAN Kids
Now, Listen up you people out there. Recently, I see that there's been a lot of silliness on the Internet... not just on this site, but throughout the whole T'interweb.
This needs to stop. The t'interweb was not built for silliness. Or Cats. Or porn. It exists only for Jesus, Guns and America. Stare at this slide of some good clean American kids, then pray for Jesus to save you from oddness.
That is all.
Bonus - Infomercial GIfs, because real life is hard.

The Pink Bride
Like a big pink yummy meringue.
Unlikely to be a genuine bride, surely not even that Japanese can be that mega-cutesy. So, I'm guessing a model for a bridal show. But, no matter. Very pleasing on the eye.

The Artist At Work
An illustrator at work, but where and when? I'm no fashion guru, but that seems a mod-ish dress - yes, with a Mad-Men vibe (think Midge from series one) so I;'m guessing early sixties.
But, if you know better - please speak up,

How Photography Used To Be
This amateur Weegee is a perfect reminder of how much photography has changed in the past 60 years. Time was when a huge one-shot quarter-plate monster like that was de rigeur for serious photographer. Each picture took time and thought before taking a shot. Now, a compact digital camera with huge capacity means it's easy to snap away at everything. Not necessarily an improvement...
Bonus - interesting background(s)... Explained
