Sun-Bathing, Bikinis Beach, Babes

Heck, it's the end of June, and if this blog can't have a bikini-ed babe on a beach now, well... this blog is going to start sulking.

River Bank. And Buildings

Strange, but in the same box of slides, a few after this one, these a slides of the same scenery with hippos and elephants.   Definitely not tedious.

But this slide.  Dull.

Bonus - Protect your beloved pooch with  a decapitator ??? Genuinely worth reading if you're a doggie owner.

A Gothic Monstrosity.

No details, but I'n guessing that this is the memorial to Count Jim "Thighs" Moriarty, in Lower Penistone, Yorkshire.

Moriarty was the MP for East North Sheffield from 1874 to 1856, and was an enthusiastic member of the Sheffield Peasant Hunt.  The locals were heartily glad when he died - in suspicious circumstances.

Bonus - Just when you thought that children's films had reached the limit of oddity....WHAM.   A New My Little Pony movie.  Jeez.   It sounds frightening. Seriously, read the (short) article...

Danger - Do Not Dock

Tedious Tuesday again, and this one verges on the side of being almost interesting.

Unfortunately, no information, and nothing to scale it by. It could be part of a miniature train scale layoutm for all I know,

Bonus - Come On People. No dog, not even a Poodle, deserves this sort of treatment.

Bobby - The Junior Puppy Strangler

They say that every psycho started off by hurting animals as a child.  How they know this, is a mystery. Did they do a nurture vs nature test? Double blind trials ?  And what about accidentally standing on a duckling? Does that doom me to a life of spree killing ?

Anyway, I wonder what young Bobby grew up to be ?

Bonus - The Oatmeal reaches 1,000,000 Likes.  Good For Him, and an excellent celebration.

No, not a Popular Beat Combo from the Sixties.

Freddie Rumsden and his love of Opera Singing in the Norfolk Fens. (Hence the dinner jacket and dickie bow tie.)

You'll notice from the sloping horizon that this was before the fens were levelled.

No apologies for the physical quality of this slide - it's inevitable that time will take its toll.

The Nadir Of Tedium

Or do I mean zenith.     or apogee ?

Anyhow, this isn't the aftermath of a tornado... this is a genuine mid-west American town.  Not an aerial view of Hiroshima...it's meant to look like this.

Sandy Feet

After a day at the beach, it's time to head home. However, Papa doesn't want sand in the back of his Buick, so Timmy and Griselda ensure that feet are clean and sand-free. (At least, that's what I assume from the picture.)

Pity the photographer forgot to focus.

The Time Of The Snows

If you're like me, you'll have recognised this prose as a part of Yasunari Kawabata's Nobel Prize in Literature 1968 Lecture.

And it continues this week's theme of furniture and decoration.

So, that's nice.

Not Shaker Furniture.

So I was lying in bed last night, scratching my elbow, when a voice boomed from the bathroom.

"You don't post many pictures of furniture, do you"

"That's right, Your Majesty" I replied. "People just don't photograph furniture, in my humble opinion."

"Well it simply isn't good enough. Post whatever you can find. And bring me a Brillo Pad" said She-Who-Must...

"Okely, dokely" I replied, while bnreaking wind, In stereo.

So here it is.

Big Bad Bob

Robert "Bob" Schneider.  Scourge of the Prairie-Dogs in Clinton County.

Bob was traumatized by a bi-polar prairie dog as a youngster, and since then, he's spent his evenings catching and strangling the rodents. Some would say it's an obsession.
