Being a construction of your humble blogger Tepid Halibut, with the aim of posting one vintage slide image per day, from now until Kingdom Come. (Or until Mr Halibut gets bored.)

Mr and Mrs Rounsley, and Isobel
Seen here enjoying the late afternoon sunshine, but in danger of being attached by a swarm of black locusts.

The Creepy Dinner Party
Tedious Tuesday is temporarily merged with Bad Photography Selection, and gives you....something.
Table set for a dinner party, but slide is horrendously under-exposed and badly stored. Result.....something rather strange.
Bonus - A Shuffle of Aluminum, but to Banks, Pure Gold

Picnic Time
Yesterday (Saturday) the weather in Derby was similar to this, so naturally it was ideal for a bar-b-q.
Inevitably, within an hour, monsoons of a biblical scale descended and flooded the street.
Bugger.
Bonus - How good are you at estimating numbers of kittens?

Loch Coruisk, 1967
No, not one of my pictures. Despite my Scots Heritage, and love of the west coast, I've managed to avoid visiting Skye. Yet.
Loch Coruisk (in Scottish Gaelic, Coire Uisg, the "Cauldron of Waters") is an inland fresh-water loch, lying at the foot of the Black Cuillin in the Isle of Skye, in the Scottish Highlands.
Strangely, it's not changed much in the 46 years since the slide was taken...

Hot !
I guess I'm not the only one suffering from the heat. This here gal is in full shorts and t-shirt, electric fan crash-out mode.
None of which is helped by the interest of two furry woofers.
Bonus - Enjoy The Ride on the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster.

The Crafty Convertible
Yes, you're right. That is a distinctly home-made convertible on this taxi. Bravo !

The Chicken Man of Norfolk
Ned Smanks was the legendary "Chicken Whisperer" of Norfolk - able to calm the wildest rooster, able to influence the hordes of feral hens of Norwich,
...and in 1978, he just disappeared. UFOs? Russians? Nobody knows.
Bonus - Not Safe of Kids..."By the third time… I was like, you know, this is gratuitous. I do not need to see any more mayonnaise enemas for the rest of my lifetime."

Ah. Cool Refreshing Breeze.
Those of you who know me, know that I have the physique of a totally ripped Greek god. And that means that I do rather suffer from the heat.
So, I post this slide with a rather envious look at my eye. Cool, refreshing snow. I really wouldn't mind a small blizzard at the moment.

The Netball Team
From a box of slides, marked Woodchurch, Kent, 1968.
Evocative of the time - was that really "The Summer Of Love" ?
Bonus - The Condensed Blade Runner.

Latterday Starkweather and Fugate ?
I utterly love this slide. Note just because the dude looks like Al Smith from work, but this pair havea definite look of two lovebird spree killers - a latterday Starkweather and Fugate, or an early Mickey and Mallory?
Either way - it's a fantastic slide.
Bonus - Excellent concept. Should I Read The Daily Mail?

Two Little Cuties
For a change, it's nice to see two cute, happy girls.
Who knows how they grew up, but here, in the past, they just seem thrilled to be on camera.
Bonus : Disney Princesses, as portrayed by Nic Cage,

It's those sunglasses.
Every time I see that style of sunglasses, I immediately think of Gary Larsen cartoons.
So in this slide, it;s not the Flintstones caravan or the incongruity of the grey woollen three-piece suit that catches the eye...it's the sunglasses.
Bonus - Oh well. Continuing the theme... ZZ TOP - Cheap Sunglasses

Mmmmm Wood Panelling
People do photograph the strangest things. Who would have thought to make a slide of a wall of wood panelling and some 70's plasterwork? A nutter, that's who.

The dresses and veils may be as pure as the driven snow, but Gertie's knees betrayed an interest in mucking around at Grandpa's Farm.

Golf Belles
Original slide was massively over-exposed, but it did have a certain charm.
Bonus - After a few days illness, I'n back to reasonable health, Thank you for all your messages of support. At the last count, the total was very nearly two messages.
My favourite was this one, from Mrs Trellis of North Wales. "Dear Edward Snowden, if the CIA are carrying out extensive worldwide surveillance, can someone tell me where I left my house keys?"

Housesteads Fort, if I'm not mistaken.
Hadrian's Wall is a Roman construction that the Daily Mail would like to refurbish and man with troops as the first part of their Ethnic Cleansing fantasies.

Independence Day (USA)
Bl**dy Typical.
Twelve Thousand Slides, and I knew that one set had a lot of pics of the Stars And Stripes. Could I find that set ? Could I *********!
But finally, a suitable image to mark Independence Day, commemorating the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain, which occurred on July 2, 1776. Most historians have concluded that the Declaration was signed nearly a month after its adoption, on August 2, 1776. But let's not quibble.
