But, using my massive asteroid-sized brain, I think that this might be Huntington, west Virginia.

In fact, those buildings on the bottom left look rather like those in this Streetview view.

Meaning, that building bottom left would be the Carnegie Public Library  as seen from the upper floors of the Army Corp of Engineers building.

But, all I know is that this vibrant slide dates from the early sixties, and  there's a reasonable chance that this  lady has departed this earthly plane.

I presumed that the sign "refresco nogar" would help searching, but that translates as "Walnut Soda", which sounds unlikely. Refresco is a big drinks brand, worldwide, so...no help.

I did make some efforts to establish where this truly mediocre building is / was, but I soon drifted off into a slumber. The original slide was massively under-exposed, so just be grateful I extracted any info for it.

I did briefly think that this was the gatehouse for HM Prison Ford, but it isn't.

Early start today - I'm attempting to climb Horsham Hill, the famed mounteering challenge in the Northern Alps of Norfolk.

As you see, the southern face is daunting, and I shall be needing pitons, ice-axe and canoe for some of the traverses.

Some a little bit interesting for Tedious Tuesday.

The subject slide had deteriorated badly over the years, with a strange colour cast and fading. (It's the second "colour" slide.)

So, one trick up my sleeve is to split the image into the three constituent colour images...and the big image is the "blue" part.

Not any more interesting a subject, but slightly less off-puting.

Loughborough Town Hall

 

In the late 1980's, Toyota were looking to build a car factory somewhere in the English Midlands.

Loughborough, desperate to diversify from their core industry of manufacturing whoopee cushions, spent all their cash reserves on remodelling the existing Town Hall into a replica of the Sapporo Town Hall. The results were startling, as you see, but alas it was in vain. Derby got the factory.

Two years later, the town hall burned down in a mysterious event, a week after upping their Fire Insurance cover.
