CIA Monitor Photo 8873/A/823

It may appear to be just another tedious photo, but... perhaps not.

The gent in the foreground - a definite spy. I'd stake my reputation as the sanest man in th office on that.

The other chap in the shirt and tie - clearly his contact. Obviously, he's realised he's been rumbled, and is gurning to give the impression of being just a boring tourist. Sorry mate. You're busted.

Behind the spy's hat - the other CIA operative. Keeping an eye on the two of them.

It's all obvious to me.

One moment - a Sullen Old Battle-Axe

The next - Ecstatic Granny

That's the power of Non-Prescription Drugs !

Yes, it's a Hycam

I really do get an unusual selection of slide subjects, don't I?

The Hycam, as you probably already know, was a High Speed 16mm Rotating Prism Camera.

Wht, you want more ?

V for Victor

I was going to title this as "****-You, ****-You Both".... but that's a bit aggressive.

So, it's time to end this week's air-travel mini-theme. From the same box as the galley slide, so probably on an SAS DC-10, plane-fans.

Bonus - Well, that was unexpected.

Writing the Rasom Note

A rare moment in history as DB Cooper writes his ransom note, prior to his famous free-style freefall to oblivion.

OK. It isn't DB Cooper, and it's out of focus. I'm sorry, but I found a fantastic slide for tomorrow's wallpaper, and wanted to keep the aviation theme going.

Bonus - To make up for the crap slide, here's a FABULOUS website. (Heck, that sounds a bit gay). Pooh and Alien.

Damn. I found that a week ago, and have been saving it. In the interim, it's gone viral.   Damn.

AA 727

There might be a little bit of a theme developing this week - airplanes.

Yesterday, an SAS DC-10. Today,  Boeing 727 of American Airlines.

What will it be tomorrow?

SAS - The only way to fly

OK, not the only way to fly, but nevertheless, and interesting glimpse behind the scenes of a mid 1970's Scandinavian Air Service McDonnell Douglass DC-10 (I think).

For those who don't recognise it, this is the galley, where the food is reheated and prepared. All stainless steel and wipe clear sutfaces - I wouldn't mind a kitchen like this now.

Actually - A link from the dim distant past comes to mind - Airline Foods.

Bonus - It's What She Would Have Wanted - Eating off the People's Princess.     This is what the Internet was for !

The Ultimate Spectator Sport ?

Fishing.

FISHING ???

That's what some numpty at work told me today. This weekend, he's off to watch some chub fishing match his brother is competing in.

How sad is that?

Bonus - To make up for that, try this. Utter awsomeness. The Gareth score is so well known, but this shows that there's so many other excellent moments.

What A Swell Party

Windy and wet here today, tho' to be honest, I'm about as far away from the sea as I could get in England.  I miss just heading down to the beach and just watching the breakers.   Oh well.

Bonus - Let me slip into something less comfortable.

Comment - Charlie Brooker on dangerous drugs...and worse !

Golf Fashions

Golf    and   Fashions

Two words that go together like Communist   and   Aristocracy,   or  Tasty  and   Lettuce.   Or even Littlejohn   and    Journalism.   You get the idea.

Couple female golf fashions with an outrageously daft hairstyle (Peggy Bundy's inspiration?) and you get one retro look that should never come back into fashion.

Bonus : Making an entrance

Bonus 2 - Another great video for a so-so tune. (Trust me)

After the Dinner Party

Still suffering from a minor Mad Men fixation, and I thought this old slide fitted perfectly into that theme.

An awkward dinner party for work colleagues : a trophy wife Bette on the left, and the ambitious Peggy on the right. Both of them is their new frocks. And of course, the men, in suits obviously, with their own agendas.

The body language speaks volumes...

Bonus : DON'T shake hands with a dog breeder.

Music Video Time : Song - Meh!. Video - great (Little Red Riding Hood in Info-graphics.)

At Last - The End of The Week

Oh Boy.

What a week that was. I'm glad to be back home, with my Harem of Heavenly Hotties. * With a tinny of ice cold bee....Mug of Steaming Hot Fresh Coffee.   Marvelous.

*  Statement may contain lies in variable quantities.

Bonus : Home Taping is Killing Music

Fluff - Bouncy Lamb  :o)

Mrs Trelawny and Buster

Curiously, this was an American slide, from 1968, but in the background is a Mini. So...taken on holiday in Europe, or a rare American import - I dunno.

Bonus - The next stage of evolution

Gross - Snake disgorges pig (?)

Happy St Patricks Day...

...hic

OK. It's just some Yanks partaking of a few brewskis, but it could be on a St Patrick's Day, dammit.  I mean, the guy with a beard looks a little oirish, and hi shirt probably contains a splash of green.

Bonus : Surprised Banana

Not in Kansas Anymore

A surprisingly low percentage of Americans have passports : 28% according to one website : which may account for this American photographers fascination in a fairly ordinary street, somewhere in the Middle East.

But then again, I also read that 46% of statistics on blogs are made up on the spot.

Bonus - Okay...I see.    I understand...I think.

...and Bonzo on Look-Out

A couple of days up North, but I'm back here in Slideville, an this little scenario made me smile.

Missus Somethingorother doing the gardening, with the faithfull pooch on look-out for cops, cats, FBI or aliens. An excellent little moment in time, captured by Kodak.

Bonus - Does What It Says on the Tin

Bonus 2 - Channeling his inner child. Little Billy's Letters.

Chilly

Sorry for the short postings recently, but I've got other things on my mind at the moment.

The Blog may be a bit quiet for a few days, but I'll be back. Trust me.

I'm not the only site on hiatus...

Mrs Arkwright and Mrs Tideswell Await The Rapture.

"... quiet here, isn't?"

"Rather.      I was expecting something a little more....apocalyptic"

"Yes.  Me too."

"I was expecting a few more people."

"Hmmmm.  Yes.    I mean, not even The Reverend Wright is here".

"Odd that.  You don't suppose...."

"No, he was quite clear. The world ends in 2012. And today's the 2oth December"

"Yes.    I've not even bought a turkey for Christmas.   Didn't see the point.    George is going to be so disappointed if the world doesn't end today."

"You'll have to knit him a quick present in that case.  I've got a pattern for a pair of socks you can borrow."

Bonus : No, this isn't extreme sport.

THIS is extreme sport.

The Butterfly House

Butterflies. You don't see these "adornments" as often nowadays, but in the early nineties, there were a couple of houses in my neighbourhood that were bedecked in these.

Why?

Home decoration inspired by four year old girls ?  Whaterver the reason...I'm not a fan.

Bonus - Oh Nooooooo!

Gladys in Hawaii

Maybe it's just me, but something about this shot makes me think it's a fake.

Perhaps my TinFoil hat is misaligned, but this looks a little like a studio shot, rather like that bloomin' annoying holiday firm TV advert.

But why would someone fake it with such a little old biddy?

Why?

Bonus - Strangely addictive. Make your own abstract wallpaper.

Am Dram, Not Hum Drum

In the name of the wee man, what the heck is going on here? There I was, just scanning in some rather unexciting slides, and...WHAM...this one appears from out of nowhere.

A red-edged Kodachrome, so probably dating from the early 1960s, and processed in America, but otherwise no clues. I'm guessing the post-show party for some Amateur Dramatics company, but truly, I'm baffled.

Bonus - Yes, "Mike from Overthere" I had neglected to post a calndar for March, so...how about this ?

Bonus 2 - Toilet Paper for real hard men

Cute Kid

I admit I've included a few strange links in the past few posts, so I thought I'll make it up to you by featuring  a innocent cute kid.

There.   Hope you appreciate it.

Bonus : Look at my horse    Doh.  Just gone and spoiled a pleasant post.
