Good Lord ! It's New Years Eve already ! Better start preparing for the party.
Brushes to limbo under and watered down booze. Stale crisps and horrible music.
On second thoughts....
Bonus - 2016 - F**K. Excellent illustration of the main shock of the year.

The Red Tractor
...and I'm back. Sorry, I was distracted by some rather severe indigestion :-)
So, today's pic is a lad playing with his favourite Christmas toy - a new Murray Trac Pedal Tractor and an improvised trailer. These, unsurprisingly, are now quite sought after.
Bonus - Watch Out New Zealand - Israel is watching you...

Merry Christmas from Stan and Elaine
As we approach Christmas, I'm sure you'll be inundated by hundred of Facebook Festive messages.
Me ? Meh. Maybe I'll leave it to the Herschenschmidts, who lefts this message : "Clear off, you weirdo!".

...Happy Little Trees.
I don't believe that this painter is actually Bob Ross, but I like to thing that she's been influenced by him. Certainly, there's a large number of Happy Little Trees just waiting to be painted.

A Veritable Torrent of ... Water
Seems like a while since the last "Landscape" format slide.
So, where in the world.
The slide says "Bhagdaon Durgar Sq", which would suggest it's what's now Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
However, the torrent in the background is worrying.
Bonus - A few days ago say the death of Peter Vaughn. Here's a favourite music video that he (and other familiar faces) can be spotted in.

(Not) The Christmas Decorations
Finally, a slide with a bit of info on it, but.... it only intrigues me more.
"Port Moresby" it said.
However, I can't figure out what this building (?) is. There's a definite architectural resemblance to the Parliament Building, so I'm guessing that the parliament building was inspired by this form of structure.
But who knows for sure.

Too Early
Is it too soon for slides of Christmas Trees, Christmas Presents, Christmas Decorations and expectant kid in their jammies, staring at thenon-existent pile of Christmas Presents?
While today is 12-12-2016 (or 12-12-2016 if your 'merican) there does appear to be a restraint in the Christmas Decorations around Slide Villa.
Bonus - Christmas Cheer - Oh No...

Celebrating Clapper's Day
Hugh, Mary, Mary and Mary-Jane at the annual "Clapper's Day" celebration.
This festival has been rarely documented but has been an integral part of Beaverton's December events since 1890. And these four intend to continue the frankly mysterious tradition for as long as poss.
Bonus - Friendly Fire at Pearl Harbor.

Out In The Badlands
'Murica! Hell Yeah !
There's a wonderful retro style to many of these slides, and a strange familiarity about the scenery. No information on where or when, but my heart shouts Nebraskan Badlands, and 1950's.
I may be wrong of course.

Posing with JFK
I had assume that the location of this sculpture would be quite easy to work out...but it isn't.
First thought was JFK Airport, but no...
I then thought it was the Felix de Weldon sculpture, but no...
So...I', puzzled. Anyone out there recognise it ?

Thirty one years later, Donald realised what Hank really meant.

Waiting For Menus
The less successful follow-up to "Waiting For Godot".
The play is acted out in real life (ie not on a stage) and features Valerie (left) and Oestrogen (right) killing time while awaiting the arrival of a waiter (who has, unbeknown to them) committed suicide.

Pilot Boat No 2 - And A Swarm Of Locusts
No.
You're right.
That's not a swarm of locusts. It's just a very dirty n dusty slide.
I could / should clean it, and restore the slide to pristine condition .... but ... just imagine how hideously tedious that slide would be than.

Arlington
On finding this slide, I immediately started wondering about the context.
Sixties, obviously. A formal cemetery, and scaffolding for TV cameras?
Alas, with some research, this isn't anything to do with the assassination of JFK (53 years ago today).
No, it's the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia, United States of America.
Bonus - Come on, Fair Exchange !

Two Happy Chaps
Perhaps they were at Teenage Fanclub's gig last night at Sheffield Leadmill.
Excellent night - marred (for me) by an idiotic portion of the audience who spent the whole night travelling back and forth between the two bars. I reckon the same cockwomble in a U2 t-shirt squeezed past me seven times. FFS.
Actually, these two chaps are probably in 1950's America, judging by the fashions, and the phalanx of demobbed Liberty Ships in the background.
