I know that I have seen a bunch of slides of kids in Hallowe'en costumes, but ... can I find them when required ?
Heck no!. So this slightly sub-optimal slide will have to do.
Bonus - Speaking of Hallowe'en outfits...
Being a construction of your humble blogger Tepid Halibut, with the aim of posting one vintage slide image per day, from now until Kingdom Come. (Or until Mr Halibut gets bored.)
I know that I have seen a bunch of slides of kids in Hallowe'en costumes, but ... can I find them when required ?
Heck no!. So this slightly sub-optimal slide will have to do.

Nowadays, people seem to have forgotten how useful creosote was to the Post-WW2 economy. Companies had intense rivalries for supremacy, much like the later Coke vs Pepsi wars.
Brand leader was Coopers Creosote, largely due to it's more refined taste, but aided by an infuriatingly catchy marketing jingle sung by this young lady - Miss Trudie Trubshaw.
I wonder where she is now.

As Bob Ross would have said, "there are no mistakes - only happy little accidents."
As i Art, so in Photography. Whether due to processing errors, or a little bit of light leakage, sometimes I get slightly problematic slides...like this.
I often like them.

I'm guessing that this illustration presents an "artist's impression" of a desirable, affordable home for the identikit family. Probably in America, and probably in the early 1970's.
Gosh, it looks dull.

People make slides of the strangest things.
Bonus - Escaped cloned female mutant crayfish take over Belgian cemetery
Bonus 2 -
I liked this image of two young ladies, but, alas, there were better (?) ones for the calendar.
Bonus - The 25 most spectacular (American) branding fails of the last 25 years
Proper outdoor cooking. None of this little metallic propane BBQ, this is a big stone-built wood burning monster. And I bet that the wife (in her proper place, in an outdoor kitchen ;-) ) was cooking big, juicy steaks... not some tofu-burger. Great.
Bonus - Stevie Nicks And Abba’s Frida Star In Women’s Self Defense Manual (1983)
Top Tip : "Before giving away a book to a charity shop I forge the author's signature on it. I've written things like 'To Dave, hope you enjoy, Geoffrey Chaucer'"
Wendel Thurman IV, Wendel Thurman II and Wendel Thurman III.
And only one of then dyes his hair.
Bonus -I assumed that a little bit of Googling would reveal a "White Castle" that was the likely location of this slide. Instead, it suggest that this may be related to Humberto de Alencar Castelo Branco. He served as the first President of the Brazilian military dictatorship after the 1964 military coup d'etat.
More likely is the most important monument in Castelo Branco is the Jardim do Paço Episcopal (Garden of the Episcopal Palace). It is one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Portugal and contains statues of allegories, kings and zodiacal signs, arranged around ponds, terraces and staircases.
Bonus - Twenty Five Years and One Day ago, a particularly shitty example of Air Rage.
Probably a church, or maybe a mosque, but what struck me from the thumbnail images is how much it looked like a cracked open skull.
Mmmmmmm Brains.
Bonus - Llamas that spend too much time around humans are prone to BERSERK LLAMA SYNDROME.
Bonus 2 -
Regular Readers - yes, there are some - will know that I will often rant about slides with no information. Well, in the recently scanned batch, one antique adventurer is gaining their revenge.
Remembering that the slide is only 2 inches square, with a 24mmx 36mm slide, one side is crammed with scrawly, hand-written text (obscure this slide date :-( ) saying
Our first overnight jungle camp on the Amazon River. First door on right was ours. The long walk lead to the toilets' A tapir walks through here at night.
Bonus - The actual story behind "It became necessary to destroy the town to save it."

It's been a while since we dropped in to see the Fashion shows from Holling's College, in Manchester. So, here's an end-of-show shot, from the 1988 show. And the students were right, those are exactly the fashions I sported in 1988.
Interestingly, Hollings College was also the home of the whimsical architectural marvel of The Toastrack
Bonus - Yes, more 2020 humour.
The bathroom of dreams and The Bathroom of Nightmares.
Sure, the fully enclosed bath with a scenic view is stunningly odd, but the big question is.
Who needs that many towels?
Bonus - rescue dog's poop-sniffing skills help save endangered killer whales
With the NF|L season under way, and the SeaHawks doing rather well, thanks to my guidance, so this slide seems slightly appropriate.
Alas, and as no surprise, I have no clue where this stadium would be.
Anyone want to help ?
Bonus - Yes, It's graffiti, but it's Awesome
Today is the birthday Cliff, my Brother-In-Law, so Hippo Bathday!
I have absolutely no information on whether the lad pictured is, or is not, an image of Cliff .... but it might just be.
Bonus - Another Birthday Boy - tho' a different year,
Yes, emerging from the grasslands (or maybe disappearing into the grasslands) this pipeline is - Enigmatic.
My guess - A mafia-built pesto-smuggling pipeline, straddling the Canada / Argentina border.
Bonus - Borrowed from B3TA.com
Throughout the neighbourhood, she was known as Gretchen, the Crazy Cat Lady.
However, she was actually Gretchen van Meuller, and she wasn't so crazy. She had trained her cats to go prowling, visiting neighbour's bedrooms, and bringing back shiny and sparkly jewelry.
Not so crazy after all.

I have reason to believe that this slide was taken in the grounds of Chatsworth House. Reason - Other slides in the box look like Chatsworth, and I sort of recognise the area.
Apart from "Mexico, April 1970", there was no info on this slide. But, that central structure (Axle and wheel?) is very striking.
Bonus -
Hurrah ! A slide with some information on it.
USS Dwight D Eisenhower CVN-69
(Which I could have guessed)
Mayport 1978
So... there you have it.
Bonus - What? You want more information on The Ike, Mayport, Gangplanks or 1978?
Bonus 2 - Quiz. Which country covers the most timezones ? Answer here
Again, the slide has very little in the way of clues - just the handwritten word "Rouge". So, my guess is Baton Rouge, in Louisiana, which might mean that that water is in fact the mighty Mississippi River.
But, then again, it could be Russina Military Camp No 47 - NATO CodeName "Rouge".
I dunna, and from the look of the place, I shouldn't care.
Bonus -
From 2017 or earlier...
Nice aerial shot, but obviously I have no idea where it is. However,
a. It has a Marriot hotel.
b.The church will not be bullied off its land.

Clarice is, or was, a lovely girl. Pretty, helpful, find and respectful of her elders. However, she was shunned by her school friends and neighbours due to he chronic flatulence.
No matter what her diet was, or whatever drugs and remedies she tried, there was a fairly constant toot-toot from her nether regions. And we're talking gaseous, odorous and loud.

Regular readers will know that Maude's legacy has been blighted by strange slide film fading and deterioration.
And it's evident here. The plain scan of this slide was rather dull, and lacking in contrast, so pressing the "Enhance" button (a la BladeRunner) gave me the surprising result.
Those appear to be two alien/zombie things from "They Live".
Bonus - Things must be bad.
